About

Strategic Planning is a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does, and why it does it. It can be a powerful and very helpful process for keeping the organization focused on important strategic goals and positioned for future growth and success. The process includes information gathering from people supported, families, staff, other agencies, the Ministry, and other stakeholder groups that have an interest in CLBA and its Mission.

In 2018, CLBA underwent a strategic planning process to identify key critical issues facing this organization and develop strategic direction for the next three to five years.

Key Informants and Stakeholders (people supported, families, staff, the Board, other agencies and the Ministry) were invited to provide feedback on:

  • CLBA organizational strengths and weaknesses at the present time; and
  • External opportunities and threats that are more about the future.

In October 2018, Brandi Hodge, Strategic Planner, Facilitator, Community Engagement and Developer, facilitated discussions and workshops with key stakeholders to review input, confirm critical issues facing the organization, and develop a series of strategic steps to set the stage for a new three to five year agency Strategic Plan.  To view the final report, click here:  Strategic Planning Summary Report.

Following the report's release, an operational (action) plan was made to ensure that CLBA would address the critical issues over the next three to five years. The plan includes strategies that need to be implemented, the person or people charged with ensuring that they are implemented, and a stated time frame. This will guide CLBA in its commitment and efforts into the future.
